Sports Department

"All work and no play make Jack a dull youngster". This proverb highlights the importance of playful activities in our lives. Either studying or working alone makes us exhausted. We are no longer efficient enough to do any work. Sports and physical activities remove our mental exhaustion and also offer a break from the daily routine tasks to recreate or re-energize them. Education without sports is incomplete. Apart from celebrating victories, sports and physical activities also aim at imparting lessons on sportsmanship, recreation, and companionship to the students. Under the guidance of our honourable chairman, Er. Sunil Gupta, and under the leadership of our director, Dr. Bharat Kishore Gupta, and enthusiastic sports teacher, Mr. Amit Yadav, the Department of Sports marks itself as one of the most efficacious departments of CIST. It strives to excel at all levels of sports and bring laurels to the college. The sports wing of CIST holds a passion for the art and science of movement and skill development through youth participation in sports and fitness programs. It believes in a quality and enjoyable learning environment that positively encourages and develops the body, mind, and spirit. It strongly believes success is achieved through the motivation and determination of the Management, staff, and Students working together to form a desire and a dream. It firmly relies on strong Dedication, discipline, and Determination (3Ds) towards the vision, missions, and objectives and has a passion of conducting various sports and recreational activities throughout the entire year. Hence, the Department of Sports marks itself as one of the most efficacious departments of CIST.

Philosophy

CIST aims for the overall holistic development of all students who enter the portals of its institutions. While the CIST remains committed to academic excellence, there is a clear recognition that academics are not enough. The social, physical, and Spiritual development of our students and staff is equally important if we are to turn out well-balanced, healthy young citizens. Participation in Sports and Physical activity goes a long way towards promoting the physical and mental health of the students and staff; it helps contribute to their physical, social, and emotional development.

Sports at CIST are considered an important component of the overall personality development of our students and staff. We encourage all students to participate in a college sport, as we firmly believe in its benefits. Sport is an integral part of social development that needs to be encouraged. Our aim is to produce young men and women who play with good sportsmanship and are competitive every time they step onto the field.
